Counselling provides you with the opportunity to talk in confidence with a trained professional, whose focus is to provide you with the time and space to explore any difficulties, problems and concerns that are troubling or perplexing you.
This can include feelings of stress or anxiety, concerns about work, family or relationships, feeling depressed or overwhelmed, or just needing someone to talk to about something that is bothering you.
If you would like to give it a try – you could attend one session at a reduced rate to find out if it’s for you. In this session, you will have the opportunity to discuss what is concerning you and what you would like to achieve from counselling.
You can expect to receive a supportive and empathic approach and feel able to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. All of this provides a foundation that can help you gain new and possibly unexpected perspectives, throw light on your triggers and increase your self-awareness and personal learning.
The counselling process is different for each person so the rate of any change and the number of sessions vary. This includes the extent to which each person would like to discuss and explore their concerns. All of this is in your hands, you can have as many or as few sessions as you feel you would like.
You may find that you change your approach and old patterns; or find ways of coming to terms with circumstances, or feel less burdened and weighed down, or you may just feel more settled in yourself having talked things through.
The counselling process is unique to each person and can be a very special and personally rewarding experience.
